The Accademia Gallery houses Michelangelo’s David and many other works of the Renaissance such as the unfinished work Slaves. Other historical sites around the city include that of the Duomo di Firenze which is the most acclaimed cathedral in Florence and perhaps the most beautiful. Nearby to the Duomo is Giotto’s Tower. Tourists can climb the tower, for a fee, and see the beautiful vistas that Florence offers. Tourists may also be interested in the Ponte Vecchio which is the only bridge in Florence that survived World War II. There are many other places in the city to see such as the many gardens, parks, and Renaissance style architecture.

Many tourists also visit Tuscany which is the beautiful region that surrounds Florence. Tuscany is known for its rich farmland and beautiful, yet unique trees. The food in Tuscany is amazing. Many tourists here enjoy visiting the many cathedrals, one in each town, that Tuscany offers. The architecture here is beautiful. Many tourists also visit Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Important wine producers dot the area. Because of this many tourists enjoy wine tasting after a trip to one of the many Tuscan spas.
